Blanch wants ranch, y'all! I'm not sure where it came from, but one day, while drawing, the statement Blanch wants ranch kept popping into my head. I was not sure what to do with it, but I knew it had to be about a hefty lady with an affinity for foodstuff that makes me retch. I don't get why people like ranch. Why taste the food you're eating? It's apparently a natural inclination to cover up that taste with a slurry of chemical death. Mmm, drizzle it over your butterfat corn tubbins, and you gots a party!
Edit: I forgot to credit my wife for coming up with the last line. I had something else in mind when I wrote it, but when she saw the third panel she said by the grace of god man, and it was way better than whatever I was thinking of.
The hip issues I presented in Old Man were real but ceased some time ago. I exercise six days a week, and I go hard. I assumed it was because I do intense cardio that involves explosive lateral movements. The movements I was blaming it on were specifically incorporating ouchi-gari and straight kicks into cardio, which bummed me out because I thought it meant that these movements might not be for me anymore. It turns out that I was hanging onto my running shoes for too long, and when I changed them, the issue disappeared. I've always hung onto my shoes for too long until they are in tatters, and I'm pressured to get new ones. I also got into the bad habit of keeping old running shoes for yard work or making a quick trip to a store. It's not a money thing, but I romanticized the idea of having running shoes that have been to hell and back and still being able to serve a purpose.
Quasimorph has invaded my brain, but I'll save the discussion until I release a comic about the game. If you enjoy turn-based games and roguelikes, I recommend it. We've been playing It Takes Two at home. It's a fun and cute co-op platformer that requires you to work together as a couple to solve puzzles. We've played through part of this before but never completed it, so it's nice to start over. There may be more of this tonight, or perhaps some PC stuff, as I finally caved and bought a new monitor to do multi-monitor stuff again. My existing monitor still works fine, it seems, but there seems to be some planned obsolescence bullshit from Nvidia that fucked my setup well. There will be a comic and a rant about this, but I'm still mulling it over.
