Today's comic isn’t the first time memes have influenced my work, and it won’t be the last. Seeing that image made me wonder what it would be like if this young man took his songs on the road. Honestly, I think he’d be a smash hit.
Earlier this year, I wrote a comic about cobalt and used the image of this guy to create the Twitter activist in the final panel. The link is to the full comic, but I’ve also provided the meme and final panel below:
My favorite part of this comic was not drawing the meme guy, but filling in all the weird details in the background, including a quote from Terry Pratchett on the chalkboard on the right.
On another note, I’m getting close to my 100-subscriber goal! This means I’ll soon be obligated to follow through on some promises—namely, doing a live AMA. It’s exciting but also a little weird for me, considering how private I usually am. The way I plan on doing this will be a little unorthodox, but hopefully, it will be more entertaining than a typical Q&A.
I will also be taking a few weeks off from posting new comics soonish to make progress on Prodigy. I have the next page ready to post, but I want to have a few new pages ready to go before we resume that story. That’s enough rambling for now, I’m off to draw things about locations I love that have fallen into ruin and disrepair, something I think we have all experienced within the last few years.
