Things have been hectic and it's been a little bit since I wrote a news post. I'll be writing this in place of updating one of my old comics. Monday & Wednesdays comics are fairly self-explanatory, as was Out of Touch. The only thing I’d add is that Indie's cluelessness serves as subtle social commentary on the lack of awareness many people live in. The most recent post that I think could use some extra explanation is Ectogasm.
The joke itself is simple, but the subjects are likely considered a bit esoteric. It’s about Sam & Colby, who started out as formerly young ghost hunters. I say ‘formerly young’ because they’re close to my age, and I think once we approach thirty, the label of youth starts to lose its relevance. I updated this one ahead of some older comics since it’s a Halloween special. The topic of ghostly things was also something I wanted to explore. While I believe in the possibility of some wild stuff, my general views are grounded in our shared reality. I don’t think ghosts are impossible, but I believe the idea of them stems more from our hope that the departed are still accessible to us, along with our own desire for immortality. If ghosts do exist, I imagine them in their own ethereal dimension, far beyond our reach or perception. Infrasound could explain many ghost sightings, but that’s not as fun as the idea of spirits hanging out in the 12th dimension after death.
Tomorrow's comic is pretty WHEIRD, and I'll have more to say about that mañana. Until then. 🫡
